Downtown, Twickenham, Old Town, Monte Sano, Five Points, and Blossomwood are home to many historical neighborhoods and homes, dating as far back as 1814. You might be surprised to learn that there are also some new homes in these areas. Some homes on Monte Sano Mountain offer spectacular views.

Built mainly from the 60s to the 90s, this residential area was once considered Huntsville's southern suburb. Like 35801 new homes have also been built in these parts. It is also home to Huntsville's original golf-course community called Willowbrook.

Northwest Huntsville is home to the National Speleological Society, the Village of Providence, and too many residential neighborhoods to count. Sherwood Park is one of a few historic neighborhoods where now-famous German scientists lived because of its proximity to the Redstone Arsenal.

Northeast Huntsville is home to Alabama A&M University, Chase Industrial Park and residential areas like Moores Mill and Chapman Mountain. It includes areas east of Five Points and west of Brownsboro.

This master-planned golf-course community became synonymous with all parts of Huntsville and its suburbs east of the three mountains that border Huntsville. For that reason, it is also known as "Over the Mountain." The area also contains Owens Cross Roads, Big Cove, and part of Brownsboro.

Other Suburbs

Surrounding the Huntsville Airport, this western suburb is Alabama's fastest growing city. Being adjacent to Redstone Arsenal and Cummings Research Park has made it a convenient suburb for aerospace, engineering, and military professionals. It is also home to Toyota Field and the metro's minor league baseball team called Trash Pandas.
