Area and National Comparisons
Huntsville Utilities is a publicly-owned not-for-profit organization and that is one of the reasons why electric rates inside Madison County remain approximately 24% below the national average said a recent area-wide mailing from the company.
In addition to comparatively low electric rates primarily due to our TVA source, the rates for natural gas and water are all also below the national average and in many cases, near the lowest in the region as the following charts illustrate:
